A New Release!

Just wanted to let you know that my short story "Just Climb" has not only been included in an anthology by Ravenous Romance but that it also released LAST NIGHT!

Here's the link to the anthology blurb and an excerpt!

I'm so excited!
Of course in my stories all aspects of life, including sports, involve some form of BDSM element...so if you like rope...get ready to be titillated!

Hope to add more to this post later this evening but today the WIP's are coming first before all other things to do!

This Is A Problem...

So, I think I wrote a few weeks ago that I was writing a short WIP for submission to the Bind Anthology Samhain is acquiring for...

So how's that going? you ask.

Well, let me tell you about it...

I started working on "Freedom" ... and half-way in I had the thought, "Oh! Oh,oh. Oh! I have that little thing tucked away on my harddrive that I could just polish up and be done with it...WIP: Prodigal Slave...yeah, I started polishing and a week later, I'm at 34K." The anthology target is 20k-25k. That means I either have to whittle it back down for the antho...or add 20k to make it a novel. It's back on the backburner...

Meanwhile, last week I pulled another short from the backburner...WIP: Under The Big Top...knowing all it needed was the final scene...a little tie me up and throw knives at me number...the setting is a circus...trust me the scene is very erotic...but the more I imagined and typed...I decided this is never going to work for the anthology and so started turning the work into a quick little something for Liquid Silver Books that would have been an unexpected boon because I've been wanting to try writing something a little different...and this one would be perfect for their Sterling line, which is a little softer, sweeter...and I'm staying on track as far as pacing. The problem is I decided that the main male character should be a werewolf and now my plot is outgrowing my original romance-novel intent, it's sort of morphing into a full-grown urban fantasy. My first thought of a quick 40K "quickie" is now turning into my second thought of, "Oh shit, I doing it again." So this morning I sit with 26k already written and a decision to make...I either have to rein in the plot and turn the spin back toward the softer, sweeter side of erotic for LSB Sterling...or I need to continue on my present course and see what it morphs into because at this point there isn't an erotic bone in its body...I know! How crazy is that?...There's potential for soft erotic...but not yet.

Meanwhile, back on to the anthology, which is supposed to be my prime focus this week. I'm back to square one. Looks like I'm going back to where I left off with Freedom...

Oy vey...

Asleep At The...Keyboard

Last night I took my new baby to bed with me...
I know, it's sad. Very, very sad.

Hubby told me this morning he'd been replaced...

Not very likely...

Fingerprint Login...

I wasn't expecting today to be an especially wonderful day...
It was dreary and snowy, which meant I wanted to sit in front of the computer and write all day; but that seemed pretty selfish, seeing that my hubby was home following a week long business trip and is leaving for another trip on Monday. So when he said, "Lets go prowl around," which means lets go out in the cold and find something to do...I wasn't terribly excited.

He drove straight to BestBuy because he needed another (yes, another) external hard-drive, not because his was broken but because it was getting full...

He bought me a present while he was there :)
A bright and shiny (yes, shiny) laptop!
Of course I had to tell him that my old laptop was perfectly fine (slightly unstable, but fine when the icons aren't blinking...), I had to tell him that I was emotionally attached to my old computer and since it was officially still alive I'd have a hard time separating from it (he promised me we'd find it a good home), and then I had to explain my buyers pre-morse (I don't wait until I buy something to regret it...I regret it before I ever pull out my debit card...I save a ton of money that way and hardly ever actually swipe my card for anything.)
He said it was a present...
Saying no to a present would be wrong, right?
I am so excited now that it is out of the box...
  • It's shiny (I know, I said that all ready) I think the color is platinum, he says gun-metal...it's beautiful...
  • It has a finger-print security scanner (I know, I was like, "Why do I need that? It's not like I'll ever use it. Wrong! Do you know how many sites need log-ins and passwords? And how much time it takes to type that info in over and over again? Well no more. I slide my fingerprint and go! How awesome is that?)
  • It has a lighted key board. (Seriously, this computer was made with me in mind. I write in the dark every night. I swear it's making me blind. A lighted keyboard is a miracle.)
  • It's the perfect size. 13" screen. I can take this baby everywhere.

Of course, I've already broken it in. Two thousand words on the latest WIP!

Did I say that I am very excited?

I have the best honey-bunny ever...it isn't even my birthday...he is sooooooooooooo getting an unforgettable night tonight. *wink*

We Interupt The Previously Scheduled Post...

Okay, I know, I know, you're here to find out Lord Fyre's favorite color, or Kitten's birthday, or Garrett's darkest secret...

Hold that thought...

Today...okay, every day at some point...Xandra Gregory and I chat...phone, text, something...mostly hours of phonage...AT&T hates us cause we both have the talk forever plan...lately we've talked about how I can somehow bring Lewd Larry's to life for my fans...and we've talked about her gay-pirate book which will soon be coming from Liquid Silver Books...

Actually we talk about gay boys alot...
We're both absolutely enthralled with gay boys...
For me it's a way of imagining my inner boi as a grown-up...I have no idea what her excuse is...

Anyway...
Tonight she sent me this video and I loved it so much...I'm now sharing it with you by embedding the youtube video...if you want a higher standard of quality go to the Tomboy Site...Hell, go to the Tomboy site anyway. He has a great personal message there...

I'm buying the album so I can sing the It's Okay To Be Gay Song every day...it will give me a reason to dance with my purple boa...

Actually, if you added a few whips and chains to that video...it would be pretty close to a Lewd Larry's moment...

And I don't know if anyone noticed the gay pirate besides me...and probably Xandra...so hot...I' just saying.

And BTW, I need a fedora...just in case you want to buy me something for my birthday.
And make-up pointers...

Chronicles of Surrender Celebration Week...Continues

The question for YOU...
Who is my favorite character to write?

A question from ME: Why the hard questions? These are almost impossible to answer!

Okay...I love Jackie...I dream of the day she gets her own story:)
Haven't met Jackie yet? She makes appearances in all three Chronicles of Surrender as Garrett's MtoF transgendered best friend. Imagine 6'6" Cocoa-skinned, loud, opinionated, hormonal, clothing fetish, shoe fetish, wig fetish...in love with Garrett, in hate with Lord Fyre, who has a poodle-boy as a pet and an entourage of a dozen or more flaming gay men...did I mention a career?...I don't know that she has one other than being a personality...like Paris Hilton except with an adam's apple and a bigger cup size...

* * *

I've also been dwelling on yesterday's question...
I think each book had a favorite moment in a scene:

Remember when Garrett bought Celia at auction?

Or when he introduced her to the idea of pretending to be a cat?

Remember when Lord Fyre caught Celia using the cell phone without permission?

Or when he stayed on the phone talking to Celia while she fell asleep?

Chronicles of Surrender Celebration Week...

I asked you, my FABULOUS READERS, to ask questions about the series...and I now have answers...but you will have to come back every day...to keep up!

Question number one:

What is your favorite scene from Sacred Revelations?

Oh! I have to choose? I really can't narrow it down to one...but I can whittle it down to a few:

the shibari scene on the rocky beach during the thunder storm or the very muddy sex scene on the soccer field...

A scene comes to mind from Sacred Revelations though...the orgy. I really wanted to be at THAT party!

And this photo was the inspiration for Jackie's Marie Antoinette Masque

Valentine's Day Flu...

So both hubby and teen daughter went to bed Friday the thirteen feeling awful...I bought Nyquil for them and homeopathy "keep from getting sick" tabs for me...I woke up Valentine's day feeling fine...they woke up feeling worse than when they went to bed...

I have to say, my honey bunny made the best of a bad situation...

We went to see Push...with Dakota Fanning.

I loved it, can't wait for the sequel...and there will be a sequel...right?

We went to an Italian restaurant for lunch which wasn't so great but then it might have been that he was feeling worse and I wasn't feeling wonderful...
The bottle of Italian red table wine and tiramisu was the best part of the meal...

Before going home we stopped at the bookstore to get me a book...because I knew he would be taking Nyquil and going back to bed...and I'm a night owl anyway...plus it was still hours til dark...

I wanted to get Silk by Caitlin Kiernan...and I'd seen earlier in the week that they actually had it in stock...I should have gotten it then...because they were sold out.

I ended up getting a book called Sunshine by Robin McKinley and stayed up all night reading it...even though I swore off vampire books months ago...I am sooooo over vampires....and honestly, somewhere in the first twenty pages I was like, "Really?" ... "This is all you've got?" but I kept trudging through (even though it was honestly exceptionally well written...crafted...reminding me of the long luxurious build-up employed by Stephen King)...page twenty-one, twenty-two, because Neil Gaiman said in a quote on the front cover, "Pretty much perfect."...and in my world, an endorsement from Neil is like gospel...after all, he turned me onto Caitlin Kiernan. On page twenty-eight Robin McKinley got my attention...

So what happened on page twenty-eight?
A single sentence from a master vampire, Constantine, described as, "thin, thin to emanciated, the cheekbones and ribs looking like they were about to split the old-mushroom skin..." who was being kept in chains by another master vampire.

"Speak," he said at last. "Remind me that you are a rational creature."

By then I had figured out the heroine was to be dinner...and Constantine was trying to find a single reason not to eat her...which meant I had to find a reason to like her...

I started the book over right then and there without going any further and reread the first twenty-eight pages with fresh eyes, understanding that those twenty-eight pages were establishing Rae's humanity...

Page twenty-eight established a reason to not hate the vampire...he wasn't human...but he wasn't a bad guy...

It's a skill...drawing out the story...weaving magic with words...I have a new appreciation for an author i hadn't read before...

I've been told by agents and beta readers that I need to draw out the "clues"...
But I learned early on that the first five pages get you out of the slush pile...so pacing isn't my strong point...relaxing enough to really enjoy a finely crafted story isn't either...I really like it when I do though...

Falling in love with an author...
Is there a better way to spend Valentine's day?

2.14.2009

So, Happy Valentine's Day

You Give Massage?

Happy Friday the Thirteenth! I'm celebrating by dragging my hubby to a movie...

It will keep my mind off my new phone stalker...
It started out innocent enough on Monday when a guy called and asked, "You give massage?"

He sounded Asian...
I said, "No, you have a wrong number."

Okay, so yes, I used to have a Reiki studio (listed under massage) and every once in awhile I get THAT phone call...you know the one... heavy breathing...

Or on occasion the lonely guy who wants more than a massage...
And rarely, the guy who really is just looking for a massage...

Four days and many phone calls later, I decide we are not having a language issue because he is Asian...but AN ISSUE...because he will not leave me alone and will not take no for an answer...

On Monday, I would have said a very hot sounding, very young guy called and made me laugh...
Tuesday and Wednesday I pressed IGNORE on my phone...
Thursday, I answered...established that he is a horny young man...he said that I sounded HOT...so hot that he was sure I could help him out with his problem...that I should meet him somewhere. I told him in no uncertain terms to stop calling me...

He called back this afternoon!
Seriously!

So now, I have a phone stalker...yep, he's calling every few minutes...and I'm hitting IGNORE IGNORE IGNORE

Welcome to my life...

Define Friend...

I thought I knew what a friend was...
Then today I found out how good a friend I really have...

Xandra Gregory, critique partner extraordinaire, called me from the Pure Romance Warehouse and said the magic words to any woman, "BIG SALE, you gotta be here now!"

I said, "I have grandbabies today...followed by a few expletives...because I would have loved to have been at that warehouse sale! Even though I was having a wonderful time watching IGOR with the babies (and watching them ride their brand new training wheels included big girl bikes that I got them for their birthdays (age 3 and 5) inside the house)...

She said, "Get online and shop with me..."
Okay...

So item by item that she passed by, I pulled up online so that I could enjoy the full sex-toy big-sale experience...

First up the Valentines Day Specials:
Who needs Diamonds ... Of course the main conversation revolved around the $36.00 savings...the "too adorable for words bling collar" ... ridges ... and length. Also important were if all the extras...toy cleaner, creams and et caeteras were "regular size" or "smaller size" ... I was surprised, they were regular size ... and I was almost drooling that I wasn't there with her because it did indeed seem a shopping savings that could not be passed up...but then all of the Valentine's Day Packages were attractive... I'm still not sure about the orange g-spot stimulator that online looks like an alien but ...

She hurried off to novelty items before I could get too involved in alien sex talks...
And was impressed that there were so many vanilla-ish bdsm toys...ticklers and teasers, feather dusters and fuzzy handcuffs...oh my, that does give me an idea for a new book...

Edible undies?
A bed of roses?
A stripper pole?
A sex sling?

I nodded and smiled, got distracted by IGOR's creation singing "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow"...

But then I went with her (virtually)to the vibrators with clitoral stimulator's table ... and I knew I was in trouble ...
I love the Humdbelievable (I broke mine...bummer)
I like the Cowboy-Up but not so much that it's irreplaceable...
So I might be in the market of a new toy...so through Xandra's excellent descriptions I "comparison shop" everything on the table...
Her side of the conversation went something like, "Oooo, this one has bigger beads...no texture...lot's of texture...wow, this one's big!"
I asked, "How big?"
Her: "Really big."
Me: "Length or girth?"
Her: "Length."
Hmmm...
Me: "Compared to Cowboy Up, longer or shorter?"
Her: "Definitely longer. Wait, I'll hold them up side by side...oh wow...about an inch and a half longer."
Really...
Me: "Is it slick like Cowboy Up or ridged like Humbelievable?"
Her: "Oh ridged, definitely ridged...more than Humbelievable."
Insert expletives here because I am not there with my Mastercard...
Her: "Do you want it?"
Me: "Yeah! Maybe I can get there tomorrow...is the sale on tomorrow?"
Her: "Or I can throw it in my basket and you can pay me later."

That dear readers is a truer than true friend...

Meet my new friend Tom...Described online as:
T.O.M.
Looking for a whole new meaning to multiple orgasms? Meet T.O.M., our triple orgasm machine! T.O.M.’s intense multi-speed and function clitoral stimulator, multi-functional rotating and thrusting shaft, and waterproof design is sure to fly you to new orgasmic heights! A must have!

Of course I haven't met Tom yet, but I have a feeling we're going to really like each other...

And as for Xandra? She's the most awesomest friend a girl could have!

High Wind Advisory...

What is up with Ohio and 70mph winds? OMG! Have you ever tried to walk 2 miles in pouring rain and 70mph winds? IT'S A BLAST! I know, who knew?

My daughter and I were on a 2 mi walking path when the storm hit full force...about 1/4 mile in...and we could turn around, or keeping going...we kept walking! Talk about resistence training! We were laughing so hard we were in tears and so soaked through that water was dripping off the tips of our noses...

And of course, thousands are again without power in Ohio (we're hanging in there at our house) but we did have to mount a search and rescue for our recycle bins and trash cans...ahem...we found them in the far side of the back forty...

Tomorrow will tell us if our roof made it through...

Stress and Drama...

The bane of a writer's career is stress and drama...give me one good life crisis hour and I won't be able to write for days...

Without going into details...last night sucked ass...actually I'm going on 39 hours without sleep because there just hasn't been time for that...and I haven't had a clear thought since the high stress/high drama moment. Which REALLY pisses me off because I am so close to finishing not one but two WIP's I was actually counting down the days until I could submit them and cross them off my list...

Sigh.
Curse.

I'm waiting for the rebound, which is usually good...but right now I'm moping around because I just can't get my mojo flowing. Does anyone else have this problem?

Woot! I Love Acceptance Letters!

This weekend just became better! Very late last night (early this morning?) I opened my email to find an acceptance letter from my new Loose-Id editor for the sequel to Voyeur! So tomorrow I will be printing the contract for EDGE and sticking it in the mail Monday...

Then the really fun part begins...filling out the blurb forms and art request forms...
Over the next few months my "baby" will get a "face"...I always look forward to what the cover artists come up with...and honestly the cover for VOYEUR was so perfect...it will be hard to top with EDGE...but I am really excited to see what they do!

Of course then the other work begins...line edits and small changes that make my story even better...what fun!

And through all of this...
I'm still writing!

Actually writing with even more intensity because there is nothing more motivating than knowing I have a new book coming out...

So all my back burners need to be ready for the heat to be turned up...and actually I'd kind of forgotten what all I do have on a back burner...

My main focus is the submission for the Bind Anthology: Prodigal Slave...damn, I hope this one gets accepted because it is probably in my mind the hottest, most emotional book I've ever written... but maybe it's just my emotion and I won't know that until someone else reads it... all I know is that my beta readers and critique partner were wowed...

Then there are the backburners...oy vey...too many to think about but all hopefully good enough to find future homes...

Do You Have Questions?

I hope you enjoyed a look at what I am working on now from the post: Where is Kitten?

I am hoping to start a dialogue over the week of February 14-20th with questions from fans of the series: Want to know Garrett's birth sign? Or Lord Fyre's? Want to know what is going on with Fyre's wife Latisha (who was last seen in the middle of a desert giving birth)? Let me know in the comment section what YOU want to know and I will answer as many questions as I can! Hopefully with some excerpts from FUTURE books in the series;)

Have no idea what I am talking about? Get caught up by reading the Series The Chronicles of Surrender:
Book I: Sacred Secrets
Book II: Sacred Revelations
Book III: Unholy Promises

And coming as soon as I can finish writing it...the stand alone story that follows George and Gigi:
Book IV: Vow of Silence

A Fan Asked...

Yesterday one of my readers text me asking, "What's going on with Kitten? Where is she? What's she doing? When will we see her again?"

Well the easy question is that we last saw her in Unholy Promises...unraveling at the seams because she discovered she was pregnant...and babies, like plot development takes time...so Kitten is gestating...

With the release of Unholy Promises, the menage of Kitten, Garrett, and Thomas strengthened...lots of revelations and surprises...and the new characters Daniel and Eva were introduced, which still need resolution. Thomas's ex wife Latisha too seems to need closure. So I have a lot of plotting to wrap up the loose-ends of this menage...

Sacred Secrets and Sacred Revelations were both Garrett and Celia's (Kitten) stories. I always considered Unholy Promises to be (Thomas') Lord Fyres's story...

When I first envisioned The Chronicles I saw 5 stand alone books: Garrett's Story, Celia's Story, Thomas's Story, George's Story, and Jackie's Story; however my characters had different ideas...and thus the first three books have been the development of the menage...

Now, I am ready to get my series back on track (Kitten seems okay with this idea because she is leaving me alone to think about my secondary characters.)

The Chronicle that I am writing now is based around George Kirkpatrick, the professional dominant known as Dr. Psycho, and explores the relationship that destroyed him and thus rebuilt him... If you've been following the series you will know that George pre-Lewd Larry's days was a prominent psychiatrist. Here is how he was described in Sacred Secrets by Garrett:

Sacred Secret's Quote:
George Kirkpatrick is pacing and his pacing is making me insane. He is the calmest, most rational handler I have on staff, my Number One, and he is pacing the length of my office. His blond hair and preppy countenance make him seem better suited for the tennis courts of LA or the golf clubs of Solvang. But no, he will tell you that is his past; he gave up a very successful LA psychiatric practice to get lost in the fantasy, a time before he made fantasy real life.

So what experience could be so traumatic that a very successful, much acclaimed psychiatrist would leave his career, leave his life, to take refuge in a BDSM-Fantasy Club?

Well, of course it's a woman...
And I want you to meet her...

Want more about George's Story? I'll try to post an excerpt soon...but I think there must be some begging involved...don't make me flog you....mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha

So, I guess the full answer to my reader's question is: Kitten will be seen again.

Just not yet...not until all of the secondary characters have been developed as stand alone books:
George's Story will be the next release: titled: Vow of Silence

Still jelling in my brain are:
Morgana's story: Hallowed Screams
Daniel's Story: Echoes of Redemption
Jackie's Story: Transcendence

The way my brain sees it right now, the final book of the series will be the conclusion of the Garrett, Thomas, Celia menage: Whispers of Forgiveness.

An Epiphany...

So, I've had grandbabies all day...I adore my grandbabies and cherish every minute with them...but having them cuts into my writing time. Meaning, I just don't write while they are here...

In preparation, knowing that they were coming this morning, I wrote as late as I possibly could last night...actually until the wee hours of the morning...on the short piece I'm targeting for the Samhain Bind Antho...

Ten-K words into it...I realized...this is the wrong story...
I love epiphanies...

So, I've spent the day, numbing my brain on cartoons and carbohydrates and dwelling on which story is the right story...and then it dawned on me. I already wrote the right story. At least ten thousand words of it...

As soon as the grandbabies headed for home, I pulled it off the hard drive and started reading. Six thousand words that had me in laughter and tears. I had to take two breaks just to remind myself that I am not the person in the story...she is fictional...her emotion doesn't have to be my emotion...

Sir Hotness watched my face like it was the most fascinating movie...

"I never finished it," I said when I was done reading through it. "I couldn't do it."

I'm still wondering if the next ten thousand words to finish it can ever measure up to the first ten thousand words...I honestly don't know...but I'm going to give it my best shot.

Fear kept me from finishing it...
Now it's time to be brave.

And even if it isn't selected for the antho...I'll still feel accomplished...because this short story is probably the best piece of fiction I've ever written.

Call For Submissions...

I am writing, writing, writing...

I woke up focused on the paranormal that at some point got moved to the farthest reaches of the back burners...then shifted to the piece I'm working on (the 100K Never-Ending relationship drama) for Samhain...then shifted to the shorter piece I'm also hoping to submit to Samhain in response to Samhain Publishing recent call for submissions. Actually, Samhain has released two calls for submissions...so if anyone is interested:

Call Closes: March 1, 2009
Call for Submissions! Shapeshifter Anthology

I'm too sexy for my shape!

Bad boys and wild girls. Cats, wolves, dragons and hamsters (just kidding about the hamsters…really). We're looking for the best of your shifters, no holds barred. Show us your sexy, your untamed and all the growls, purrs and squeaking hamster wheels (still kidding about this part) you think we can handle.

Samhain Publishing is seeking submissions for their as-yet-untitled Summer 2009 shapeshifter anthology. Stories can be of any genre or heat level—make them fun, make them sexy, make them burn right off the pages but whatever you do, they must feature a shifter theme as integral to the story. M/m or same-sex submissions welcome and anticipated.

Submissions should be 20,000 to 30,000 words in length. This anthology is open to all authors previously published with Samhain and authors aspiring to publish with Samhain. Submissions must be new material; previously published material will not be considered.

Chosen manuscripts will be published as separate ebooks under their individual titles in Summer 2009 but will be combined in print titles for Spring 2010 print release.

To submit a manuscript for consideration, please include:
The full manuscript (of 20,000 to 30,000 words) with a comprehensive 2-5 page synopsis. Please include a letter of introduction/ query letter. Full manuscripts are required for this as it's a special project. Important! When sending your manuscript/synopsis please name them: SS_Title_full/ synopsis.

Submissions are open until March 1st, 2009 and final decision will be made by March 23rd,2009.

Send your submission to editor@samhainpubli shing.com

Please put Sexy Shifters Anthology Submission in the subject line. Query letters can be addressed to Angela James.

Call for submissions: In a Bind Anthology
Call Closes: April 15, 2009

Tie them up, tie them down, use the ancient art of shibari or just plain old furry handcuffs, so long as someone’s being bound.

I’m very pleased to announce an open call for submissions for a new, yet-to-be titled Winter 2009 anthology. I’m looking for your super-hot bondage romance stories. Push the boundaries and push the bindings. I’m open to any genre, M/F, M/M, or multiples thereof. The only rule is bondage needs to be a main theme in the story and there needs to be a HEA (or HFN).

The anthology will include novellas from 20,000 to 25,000 words in length and will be released individually as ebooks in September 2009.

Submissions are open to all authors, published with Samhain or aspiring to be published with Samhain. All submissions must be new material, previously published submissions will not be considered. Additionally, manuscripts previously submitted, whether individually or for past anthologies, will not be considered either. Please be aware that manuscripts submitted to this anthology cannot be resubmitted at a later date unless by invitation from an editor.

To submit a manuscript for consideration, please include:

The full manuscript (of 20,000 to 25,000 words) with a comprehensive 2-5 page synopsis. Please include a letter of introduction/query letter. Full manuscripts are required for this as it’s a special project.

As well, when you send your manuscript, please be sure to use the naming convention Bind_Title_MS or Bind_Title_Synopsis. This will ensure that your submission doesn’t get missed in the many submissions we receive, and makes it easy for me to find in my ebook reader.

Submissions are open until April 15th, 2009 and final decision will be made by April 30th, 2009. Please send your submission to editor@samhainpublishing.com and include In a Bind Anthology in the subject line. Questions and queries can be addressed to Laurie M. Rauch (laurie@samhainpublishing.com)

So, two guesses which anthology I'm hoping to submit to? And with a "maybe snow" in the forecast and still inches on the ground, I am more than happy to sit tapping on my keyboard...

Someone who normally doesn't get snow was dumped on yeaterday: London. Eleven inches fell...how exciting! And also Paris saw several inches...

My scientist husband says that weather pattern shifts are a sure sign of global warning in action...ummm...I think something is backwards here. I'd be more than happy with an eighty degree day about now...

Neither Snow, Nor Ice, Nor Stomach Upset...

I did it! The sequel to Voyeur...EDGE...is not only complete but submitted to the editor tonight! Yes, despite the fact that we had almost a foot of snow...and I would have rather been snow hiking...Or the Ice which left 100,000 Ohioans without electricity but spared me, or the flu which...well, I won't share the humiliating details...

However, I will send a big huge "SMOOOOCH" to Xandra Gregory who proof-read when I couldn't see straight and offered insight into what the ending lacked to give us all closure...I couldn't have done it today without her.

I love Xandra! Not only is she beautiful and sexy...she's also intelligent as hell. She's been my critique partner for over a decade, seen me through a failed marriage, multiple disastrous rebound-relationships, and into marriage again...while also helping me focus on the voices in my head.

So EDGE is now in the hands of my Loose-Id editor...and I'm both nervous and excited because it's a new relationship after losing my last editor to...ah...lands unknown...but I am assured she is the very best.

I sure hope she isn't squeamish about edgeplay!

Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz...

3:30am and I sit scrolling blogs, watching news, and wishing I had anything in the house for nausea...

I know, I know, TMI, not what you expect in a romance writer's blog...
But seriously, after watching family and friends fall ill over the last few weeks, I am now one of the casualties of the flu season...

Note to self: the news is damn depressing at 3am...the alternative though was Wow, Wow, Wubbzy...and my stomach isn't up to that!

It's snowing again tonight on top of the 4" snow, 1/4" ice, 6" snow we got Wednesday...I hope you are safe and warm...and I am worried about those who aren't.

Here's a book I wish I had to read tonight.

A Gay Prime Minister

Well, we didn't end up with a female president but I celand is going to have a female Prime Minister...at least for a few months until elections can be held...and get this, she's gay!

Johanna Siguardardottir, Iceland's social affairs minister, is set to become the country's interim prime minister. A former flight attendant and union organizer, she is openly gay. Recent polls have showed Sigurdardottir, 66, to be the nation's most popular politician. She will lead until new elections are held, probably in May.

I'm not sure what happened to the other Prime Minister...but I do know that Iceland has struggled worse than the US in these economic hard times. Iceland's banks collapsed last fall; so perhaps their government fell under the weight of tension over high inflation and no jobs.

Regardless, of their woes...I'm thrilled that they are open minded enough to have both a woman, and a woman who is an open lesbian step up to the plate.

Computer Drama...Snow Coming...

So, I picked up hubby from the airport on Friday morning...play, play, play...then Sunday I get online again and yikes...the server isn't letting me surf the net...

I can log in...but that's it, stuck at my home page...

It's been mega drama ever since...
I had no idea how dependent I'd become of the web: It's my news source, my weather source, my television guide, my movie guide, it is the way I take care of 90% of my business...
And how frustrating that I feel like I cannot function if I'm not connected...it's stressful!

Finally this morning, we think we figured out the problem, still not one hundred percent sure but his work computer may be running interference with the rest of the systems here at the house. So he's off, I'm on...I have ten minutes then he has an online staff meeting...

So here's hoping there is a cure to this drama in the very near future...

If anyone else wants to share any web-drama...jump in with both feet.

In other Ohio news, we supposedly have the biggest snow of the season on its way. I'm just gonna say, I won't hold my breath after three wrong weather forcasts...all declaring big snows.
Watch us get really dumped on...

I won't complain either way because I have a good book to read...

Vampires In My Life...

No, don't get too excited..I'm not leaving BDSM erotica to write about ice cold men with fangs...
I'm talking more along the lines of personal energy vampires; people who come into your life just to suck you dry...

I am like the freshest juiciest morsel to anyone in a three state vicinity...I think it has to do with the fact that I'm a Reiki Master...I purposely send positive energy out...and end up drawing a lot of negative, needy people in...

My first dom handed me a book once about energy vampires and said, "read it." I did, I had no idea why he had given me the book...he asked, "How many people in your life are sucking you dry?"

I still didn't get it; he had to explain it to me and started naming names until I "got it."
I worked really hard to get control over the people in my life. Of course, back then...every time I allowed someone to take a little too much advantage of me...I was punished. Spanked. OTK...

I'm really not sure how that was incentive...lol.

I realized today, a decade later, that my life is being tromped on, my energy stores are drying up...it's not to the point that it was before...I've caught it in time...I'm taking control over the part of what makes me lovable and "me", the part of me that gives, gives, gives; nurtures, nurtures, nurtures...and saying, enough.

I'm saying no again to anyone and everyone who is sucking me dry...
But anyone who wants to send some positive energy my way...feel free...I need it!

I'm hard at work on Voyeur's sequel : Edge. At 33K goal 50K.
Ditto for my short story: working title Tied-Up. At 12K goal 24K.
Ditto for the long ass, never ending novel: Lovers. At 88K goal 100K.

**Side note: the coyotes are serenading tonight on full tilt! Spring must be in the air because it sounds like a lot of horny hounds in my back forty...

It's Scandalous...

It's official...we have a new president of the Unites States.
Finally!

Last night I was glued to my television, I had MSNBC.com streaming live video feed...and I still just couldn't get enough of this couple. I think by now, everyone who reads this blog, my friends, and family have all figured out that I am a voyeur...I like to watch people...I like to catch the intimacies that happen between two people when they think no one is looking...

Except last night everyone was looking...
And with bated breath I waited for each caress, each whisper, each stolen look...and I wasn't disappointed. Goddess, they are a beautiful, intriguing couple. And America is in love with that! It isn't just me watching and catching the glimpses of their shared moments...
Steff at Best Sex Bloggers commented on it (and did a very good job btw)
Eric Mathew, a guy, noticed how much they love each other and commented...
USWeekly even did a story on their Love Story...
Can you ever remember a first couple who were in love...I mean obviously IN LOVE? It's like a fairy tale except this Prince Charming and his Lady Love are real...I really want to believe in this couple...that they have what it takes to not disappoint us. I hate that jaded voice in the back of my head that still believes HEA doesn't exist...because I want to believe that it does so desperately.

Did anyone see their innaugral dance last night (x10)...the same repeated lines, the same repeated moves, the same laughs at almost the same moments...

I so wanted to be a spider on her shoulder, listening when he leaned in and whispered into her ear. What was he saying? Was he telling her to hang in there, keep smiling, four down and six to go? Or was he telling her all the naughty things he wanted to do to her during their first official night in the White House?

I know, it's scandalous...me, just a normal shmoe, speculating on the first couple's sex life...I'm just saying, if it was my first night in a new house...I'd have to break it in properly...

Not that the Obama's are kinky...
But what if they are?
They're obviously in love...
Passionate in public...

I love this couple!
Welcome to the White House Mr. President and First Lady...
Welcome!

Sex In The News...

Every once in a while I just have to shake my head...

Boy George arrested and given fifteen months in jail after hiring a male escort, chaining him to a wall and beating him. No one sent Boy the memo that their are lots of social sites where one can find a more than willing man to not only chain to the wall but "play with" as well... Obviously, the male escort pressed charges...

Teen Sexting is out of control... ok I ignored this one last week, but it seems someone in Pennsylvania didn't. Six Greensburg, Pennsylvania high-schoolers, found out to be exchanging nude pictures of themselves via text message this past November, have now been charged with child pornography, according to FOX News. I'm not sure who thought up this brilliant idea of arresting and prosecuting these teenagers...but the girls who sent the texts, age 14 and 15, and the boys who received them, aged 16 and 17, can now add "child pornography" and "sex offender" to their college applications.

And after today, I would give anything to have my virginity back...
It seems a 22-year-old woman is selling her virginity online — offering her body to bidders nationwide in an auction that reportedly has netted a $3.7 million offer.

When A Friend Emails Happiness...

I love surprises in my email...

I woke up this morning to a beautiful note from a beautiful man, Lord Shadow, who has been my friend for more than a decade and my soulfriend for more than one lifetime.

So as Sir Hotness French pressed coffee and I swigged Pepsi...we woke up to the lovely sounds of this collaborative effort by playingforchange.com

When Two People Create A Baby...

Controversy is brewing in the Ohio Valley...
Reported on WLWT-5 out of Cincinnati is the story of a gay man, Scott Mullen, and a lesbian woman, Kelly Mullen, who decided to have a child. Their daughter is now the center of a huge custody battle...

It seems Scott and Kelly are completely amicable even though they live separately with their same sex partners...they wish to share custody...so no problems, right?

Wrong.

A third party has entered the picture, Kelly Mullen's ex, the woman she was living with when her daughter was born...the woman who has (I assume) helped raise "their" daughter...

And because of a living will that listed the ex as the mother's choice to raise the child should Kelly die, a Hamilton County judge has awarded a temporary visitation schedule based on custodial rights to the ex...currently both Scott and Kelly have united to "fight against" this ruling, stating that, "this isn't a Gay Rights issue..."

I really am not sure what this is...if not a gay rights issue...
And I'm hoping to find out more, although multiple searches on the Internet have given me nothing...I'm not really a big fan of the local news team who seems to sensationalize a bit...

I'd like more facts...

Right now, as sympathetic as I am for the biological parents, I am also sympathetic to the ex...the woman that Kelly obviously loved enough to name in her living will...the woman who obviously loves the child enough to want to stay in her life...

Of course WLWT-5 is pandering to the attentions of the religious crowd (it seems) stirring things up a bit to increase ratings maybe by leading with "a same sex custody battle that will change parental rights in Ohio..." and further stating that the way this case ends could "open the door for any third party, including caretakers/ babysitters"...

I'm sorry, but if I lived with a woman, loved her, went through a pregnancy with her, and brought home a baby with her that I loved as my own...I would expect more rights than the babysitter...

Of course, I would also hope that the woman I loved wouldn't ban me from her child's life when she kicked me to the curb for the "new girl"...

I'll try to find out more as this story progresses...
But for now, I'm asking...what are your thoughts?

So Many Social Networks...So Little Time

To write?
Or to Social Network?
That is bound to be the question on the minds of so many writers in 2009.

Admittedly, I've joined my share of social networking groups over the years...
MySpace
Facebook
Twitter
Reddit-which btw if you have read Voyeur, please comment on reddit...this is my lastest venture into the land of social media circles and by far the most confusing lol
Fetlife - which btw is the best little BDSM networking/social site EVER...and where I hang for fun...and since you can only visit my page by being a member...go over pronto and sign up if you're even a little bit kinky inclined...
LinkedIn - under my RL name so if you find me yay...if not...oh well
Care2
and honestly a dozen other places I barely remember and hardly ever find my way back to...so the question killing every author out there, is does going to any of these places really increase sales anyway?

Because visiting them, updating them...and keeping up with all of the friends, and the cocktail hours, and save a places attached to hanging out...is insanely time consuming. And I don't know about other authors, but I really do need every spare minute to write (and maintain my blog cause that's my second favorite place besides being inside my own head creating worlds...)

Next question:
Forums...time waster or career creator?
Ok, not brave enough to face that one? Me either...

Taking Stock...

So, here we are mid-full moon, and I'm wondering, is it just my house that goes totally berserk...or is this something that happens across the board? And no worries, I'm not talking berserk in a crazy everyone is in fighting mood way....but rather, everyone is freaking about about their career paths and what the 2009 journey holds...

Middle daughter is here...fretting about her career "future prospects" (even though she has a good job) and wanting desperately to move to Alaska...

Youngest daughter is dropping/ adding classes at the last possible moment because she has decided that she doesn't want to be an EMT on her greater journey to be a nurse and doesn't want to be a nurse...but does want to stay in a science/medical field...sports medicine or pharmacology...

And...before anyone panics...I am not changing career paths...just stressed, wishing I could type faster...think faster...create faster...

I have two current WIP's moved forward as most important...the WIP "Edge" which is the sequel to "Voyeur" and the WIP "Blind Date" which is being targeted for an anthology. So I feel like I am on target to meet my 2009 writing goals...

I did get Good News Tonight! I was notified that I have a short story going into an anthology published by Ravenous Romance...more to come soon...

And hubby's plane took off (delayed an hour to de-ice) and landed safely...whew. Very happy he is all tucked in his hotel room.

Another Full Moon

Tonight is supposed to offer us the largest brightest moon that we will see in 2009 because of the way the planets are aligned...and we don't get to see it because the sky is so thick with clouds. How fair is that?

That's okay. I know it's there...
I've thought all day about walking a circle around the property line...
Filling my bedroom with sweet incense and flickering candles; making love to my husband...

I do so love full moon nights.

How are you celebrating the night?

I was really excited by the selected excerpt that All Romance Ebooks has decided to use because it is one of my favorite scenes! So here it is:

The Excerpt:

She rethought. I have a date. She giggled, remembering the stolen kiss. She'd never thought to see him again, no matter how intrigued she'd been, no matter how wonderful the kiss had been. And Jonas on the bus...oh my...intrigue spiked to a whole new level. She was definitely looking forward to their date. Maybe she would actually have something to share for the next Saturday morning confessional.

With a hopeful smile, she entered the elevator that would take her back upstairs to the club. The elevator doors closed, shutting out the traffic noise.

"Hello."

Autumn jumped, spinning to face a man standing in the corner that she hadn't realized was there. Small slurping noises drew her eyes down to where a bleached blonde sat on her knees delivering a blowjob. Eyes wide, jaw dropped, Autumn spun around to face the front of the car.

Be calm, be calm. It's just a man getting a blowjob.

Oh shit! Be calm! Becalmbecalmbecalm! she chanted, though it didn't matter that she'd been chanting her mantra all night...this moment was no more conducive to being calm than any of the others, including her baptism by stage show. She was still not sure how she'd missed realizing the woman on stage was a man -- until after he'd raised his skirt and revealed the very naked truth of the matter. Or a woman who wanted to hook up and allow her boy toy to watch. This was just one more very uncalm moment to join the list. She watched the blinking numbers announce each floor. Why was the club all the way at the top?

The slurping grew louder and she considered getting off on the next floor, but her fingers wouldn't reach out to touch one of the glowing buttons. She thought they'd be as embarrassed as she, but glancing over her shoulder, she decided, not him; he looked entirely too smug. Why hadn't the woman jumped up to adjust her clothing? If it were her, she knew she would be cringing behind the man with embarrassment. No, what was she thinking? She would never be caught in such a compromising position.

Juliet would. Kim would too. And Delilah had already revealed in too much detail an incident eerily similar a few months earlier on their legendary Saturday morning conference calls...though she had been the one giving the blowjob.

What did that say about her friends? She knew for a fact that they weren't sluts. She reminded herself to have a serious discussion with herself later as to what specifically did define slut these days, just to clarify; they were just fun loving. And yes, Autumn liked to think of herself as fun loving too; however, she never seemed to luck into the opportunities her friends did and she wasn't brave.

They would see this as a primo opportune, but that led to the question, what to do with the opportunity? She didn't have a clue...she was after all...just a watcher. She sighed, nonchalantly looking over her shoulder to check out the man. At first glance, he'd been incredible. And at second glance? Devastating. He looked as if he'd walked out of the pages of a glossy magazine, a model, or someone famous, or someone who should be famous. His shoulder-length black hair fell around his face as he looked down at the woman sucking his cock. With a mere lift of his eyes, mysterious hazel irises surrounded by the thickest set of lashes she'd ever seen on a man, he captivated Autumn.

He winked. She jumped, seeming to wake from a dream that concealed the woman still on her knees between this man's legs. Yes, he still leaned into the wall of the elevator, casual as could be, even though a woman greedily slurped between his thighs.

Normally, she enjoyed a good voyeuristic moment...but this was pushing it. She'd never watched so openly before, or in such close proximity. Don't look there!

Autumn forced her eyes to focus above his shoulders, examining closer the strong face with chiseled features and a black goatee that made him deadly as sin. Shadows now hid his eyes but his nose was strong and nicely shaped, if a little crooked, like it had been broken before.

He looked like Rick Springfield. Knowledge dawned slowly. She gaped, knowing without a doubt that she was looking at Master M.

But wasn't he with Juliet?

Unless...he'd already made her fly and now he was...

"Damn. That was fast."

He lifted his brow at her comment, then looked down at his dick. "No, not really."

Autumn ducked her face, snickering. Maybe he'd never had a chance to hook up with Juliet...well, obviously he hadn't because there hadn't been enough time...right? Flying would surely take more than a few minutes, and if he hadn't made Juliet fly, Autumn couldn't lie and say she wasn't relieved. Flying seemed...dangerous.

She took another peek at the man's face and decided he looked dangerous.

He wore a leather vest, his tanned chest bare, exposing a nice line of muscles over his stomach that led to his pelvis like a sharp arrow. Faded blue jeans rode low on his hips, unzipped and opened...

She looked. Shit! She glanced away as quickly as she could but not before noticing the long, thick penis sliding in and out of the woman's mouth.

"Like what you see?"

The smug bastard! In a flash, she turned to face him, ready to give him a piece of her mind, tired as she was of all men being bastards, when the peculiarity of the moment dawned on her... Shouldn't he be enjoying the attention of the woman between his thighs? Shouldn't he be lost in bliss, moaning and whispering encouragement? Shouldn't he be coming by now? But as his gaze snagged hers, his look smoldered challenge and she got lost in the depths of his teasing hazel eyes and sinfully thick dark lashes.

He isn't enjoying her performance at all.

"Well?" he demanded.

She looked him over.

She drawled, "You're easy on the eyes," turning away with a blush and determined to not keep looking at him. She steeled her eyes on the faded gray elevator doors.

Proud of herself for being so brave, Autumn forced away her blush; this had gone beyond insanity. This was something she could tell her friends about! Finally, her very own great adventure...

She could almost hear the silence of their bated breath, waiting for her to tell all for a change.

Autumn sucked her bottom lip between her teeth, seeing the picture in her mind as they waited...and realizing she had absolutely nothing to tell. Oh yeah, except for the challenge she'd felt emanating from those incredible bedroom eyes. A challenge she'd met with a smart comeback. Great. Awesome story.

"That's it? I'm easy on the eyes?" His voice was loaded with mock challenge and, strangely, disappointment.

Oh, she thought with despair, what would her friends do? She snorted. Kim or Delilah would offer to do him next and she certainly wouldn't go there. What would Juliet do? No, no. She imagined an erotic Juliet sandwich and knew she would definitely not go there! But possibly, just possibly, she was capable of a naughty stunt of her own, especially since the likelihood of ever seeing him again was beyond remote. Her eyes flew up to the lighted numbers above the elevator doors, counting up their ascent. Still, seven floors to go. Time. She had time. But to do --

No time to think, Autumn, just do something. Do something!

For the first time in her life, she did what she felt compelled to do and backed up and leaned against the elevator wall, putting her side to side with the man. She didn't look down at the woman on her knees who -- despite Autumn's arrival in the elevator -- kept sucking. She forced her eyes to his face. Another step found her brushing against his body. She reached to touch him, grazing her fingers over his jaw. She smoothed her fingers over his face, then wrapped her hand around the base of his neck. He didn't move, not one inch, though his dark eyes widened and the smirk left his face. She grew bolder, knowing he hadn't expected this.

She felt his rising chest go still beneath the press of her breasts as she moved even closer. She wanted to believe that she was responsible...that somehow because of her nearness he'd forgotten to breathe...but then his breath left in a hiss.

His eyes closed, briefly, long enough for her to gather enough bravado to press her lips to his wide mouth, but only to plant soft kisses at the corners of his lips. His lips were as soft as rose petals and she longed to sweep out her tongue, just for a little taste, but she didn't dare. His eyes opened and for a second she was caught in their wonder. Seeking safer haven than their golden-flecked depths, she lowered her eyes to his chest, her hands traveling where her eyes wandered...over his collarbone, down the line between his pecs.

He still hadn't moved a muscle to touch her, but he was definitely paying attention to her, and his breathing had kicked up a notch. She leaned her head back to look directly into his eyes and saw hunger.

He wants me.

It was enough to spur her further, enticing her mouth to succumb to temptation.

Just a little taste, she promised herself as her lips sealed over his. The result was a long, deep kiss. Her tongue, not satisfied with its promised taste dove deep, then deeper.

The kiss spiraled out of control, because even though he still hadn't moved to touch her, the power had somehow shifted. She felt a pull from deep within her soul as she was filled with a mind-numbing lust unlike anything she'd experienced before. Clutching his shoulders, her knees weak enough to collapse, she felt the tension building within the man, a screaming need waiting to be vented.

What just happened?

He was close to coming, she could feel it...so close...when a moment before he'd been bored. I did this to him.

The elevator chimed and she froze, knowing the elevator door was going to open. Her mouth pressed to his, tongues mingled, she held her breath. The door opened and after a long pause, closed again. Their ascent continued.

He took control of the kiss, hungrily and greedily demanding more from her mouth. Her knees went weak and her pussy tightened but her mind stayed in control. She pulled her lips away from his and for a long moment held his gaze, feeling the small jerks of his taut abdomen and chest muscles beneath the press of her palm.

She couldn't help smirking as she leaned into the tender spot behind his right ear. She inhaled deeply, noisily. Lost in his scent and almost forgetting her motive, she sighed.

"You smell incredible too," she said and she knew her words had pushed him over the edge. He was a goner. The muscles beneath her hand grew rigid and locked in spasm. Autumn held on to him, feeling his fall as his orgasm went on and on, his growl sounding too painful to bear, and his heartbeat drumming out of control beneath her hand.

The elevator chimed, doors opening for a second time.

Autumn managed a wink at the girl still on her knees as she rushed through the barely opened gray doors.

So, that's it...end of excerpt...I'm excited...hopefully you as my reader will want to read it now...because I'm working really hard on its sequel now! The working title of the sequel is EDGE and follows the menage of Autumn, Jonas, Michael (Master M) and their dangerous version of play...

Did I mention that Jonas is a clinically diagnosed Sadist?
Yeah, he has issues...

Control Review...

Victoria of TwoLipsReviews.com sent me her review of Control over the weekend!

Here is part of what she had to say:
"Have a toy or two handy when you read Control by Roxy Harte, because believe me, you’re going to need it! When Taylor decides to go on a quest towards ultimate fulfillment, she holds nothing back. Meeting Mistress Minerva is exactly what she needs. Quickly succumbing to her, Taylor wonders if these techniques will work on Stephen."

Just remember to come back and grab your own copy of Control ;)

More Kilt...

So it's a foggy gloomy day in Ohio...did I say fog? Make that FOG!

And it's pretty glum in my heart since Sir Hotness is flying out today for another stretch of business trips...although only three weeks this time instead of three and a half months...

So, I'm sharing another fav photo...and another man in a kilt;)
It just makes me want to crawl over on my hands and knees and peek...

Enjoy the eyecandy...

Tomorrow I start writing in earnest to finish Voyeur's sequel, the WIP currently titled EDGE!

Kilts...

I love a man in a kilt and not surprisingly, my hubby was wearing a kilt when I met him;) This photo isn't my husband but it sure helped warm up a cold January day;)

Are We Ready?

Ready or not, a New Year is here and according to Kiplinger, despite the fincial crisis it will be a better year.

I know I'm just happy that gas prises are below $1.75 and we are every day closer to a new president!

I'm looking forward to a year of productive writing...what are you looking forward to?

Monday Morning Humor...

A friend sent me this lovely greeting...early...but it's has become my new policy to scan my email for important stuff (like editor notes that have acceptance letters attached and mail from family or close friends...neither of which has been filling my email the last two weeks...but I understand...it's the holidays, I'm not emailing my friends too often either...we'll catch up...after the first...I promise...which probably also explains why I didn't actually open my friend's email until tonight...hey, at least it's the same day!)I scanned and then start writing.

Yes, YAY! Today I actually got some writing done and I'm pleased with the effort even though I won't make my target finish goal by the 31st...like fine wine...some things take time...

That...and my cell phone must have rang fifty times interrupting...
What does that say about me that I just can't turn off the ringer...or screen calls...I'm a horrible call screener...I answer...even when I'm in the middle of something. Like the sequel to Voyeur...A menage based story. Their play is dark and dangerous, and for one sadism isn't a game at all…it's an illness. The working title is EDGE. Hmmm...I wonder what that's going to be about? Oh, I do so love the scary dark side of BDSM play:) I think I mentioned before that my ideas for great scenes sometimes scares Sir Hotness...hehehe...I don't think I'm going to let him read EDGE;)

So anyway, found this little note which made me smile and thus I'm sharing it with you:

The Busiest Time of Year...

I'm not a huge fan of the holiday season...I hate crowds...I'm not a big fan of traffic...and everyone on the roads is INSANE...

That said, I did brave the malls on Yule...
And survived...

Since, I've been hibernating, not writing much though...wrapping gifts for round two of the festivities...

Middle daughter and youngest daughter wil be here for Christmas Eve, my grandaughters will be here for Christmas Day...and then we have friends coming in from out of state for the New Year...

The house will be filled with insanity for almost a week with people coming and coming...entertaining...eating and drinking too much...I love THAT part of the holidays...

So today I am mixing up about 13 pounds of dough to be formed into artisan loafs over the next week...tomorrow I will be baking pies. So far I've decided on butterscotch and chocolate. Later, Sir Hotness will be stirring up a batch of fudge.

And in between I'll hopefully be wrapping up the current WIP...
It may require a few all-night writing nights though...

Happy, happy, HOLIDAYS, everyone!!!!
