I don't live in California, but the idea that something like Prop 8 could pass in Cali was absurd. I still don't understand how it happened. Sadly, in Texas, we already have something similar to Prop 8.
Maybe I'm too cushioned by my liberal city, enough to make me naive about the rest of America.
Once Obama takes office, then the campaign for a constitutional amendment might get somewhere.
ChristenChristenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11038957504592788795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29663787.post-51020897067835331752008-11-09T18:20:00.000-08:002008-11-09T18:20:00.000-08:00I want the chance to vote on their marriages. And y...I want the chance to vote on their marriages.

And yes, this battle is just beginning. Gay rights are human rights, same as women's rights are human rights.

John Aravosis at Americablog.com is organizing boycotting activities, including moving Sundance Film Festival out of Utah, where the Mormon church holds sway, and where most of the money for Prop 8 came from.

Ohio's bad enough. But until then, we fight.Athena Graysonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14664024252326650321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29663787.post-75986985416986040302008-11-09T18:05:00.000-08:002008-11-09T18:05:00.000-08:00Hey Roxy. Hell, I remember when George W. tried to make it "pharmacists choice" on whether to dispense birth control or not.

Even if you're not into LGBT literature this action is wrong. Once you make it clear they can take away certain rights, all rights are up for grabs.

Next time it might be something that directly effects you.Lisa Andelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15179973783013139285noreply@blogger.com
